Netcare, a South African company that runs private hospitals in South Africa and Britain, posted a nearly 30% rise in full-year profit as lower interest rates in its home market and reduced debt pile helped it save on finance costs.
The company said headline earnings per share for the year to end-September rose 27,2% to 78,2 cents, in line with its forecast range of 25-35% rise. Revenue increased 6,9% to 23,2 billion rand ($2,76 billion), boosted by higher demand for private healthcare services in the company’s home market.
