South Africa and the UK have agreed to double trade between their countries, which fell to around R40-billion last year due to the global recession, a South African Minister said on Thursday.
The trade commitment was made during a state visit by South African president Jacob Zuma to the UK last week. Minister Davies said trade between the two countries between 2000 and 2008, doubled to some R79-billion in 2008.
The European Union is South Africa's largest trading partner.
