South Africa’s Pamodzi to be African agent for Antonov.

Pamodzi Investments yesterday announced that it had partnered with Ukrainian aircraft manufacturer Antonov to become its official representative in Africa.

The partnership will ideally position the company to put forward its heavy transport aircraft, the AN-70, as a viable alternative to the Airbus A400M when the Department of Defence seeks a replacement for the South African Air Force’s ageing fleet of C-130s.

The new company, Pamodzi Aviation, will initially provide maintenance and repair services to the large fleet of Antonov aircraft in service on the continent.
