GM to expand its production in South African
General Motors seeks to expand its South African production capacity by 2013. GM SA says it is considering the possibility of creating a third platform as it seeks to expand its production capacity ahead of the launch of the automotive production and development programme (APDP) in three years’ time. Last year, BMW SA ...invested R2,2bn and Volkswagen said it planned to export 55000 new- generation Polos this year. GMSA was looking at other possible alternatives to increase its volumes, such as a sport utility vehicle derivative of the Isuzu KB platform and a passenger vehicle derivative of the Corsa utility platform. http://www.directinvestment.biz
