African bank sees 5% growth this year

Despite the world’s economic woes, the Africa Development Bank’s Group Chief said yesterday he expected the continent’s economy to grow as much as 5% this year. “The rebound is already here,” Kaberuka said on the sidelines of the African Union summit in Addis Ababa. He attributed ...the rebound to higher exports, as well as the price of agricultural products such as coffee and cocoa, which were “holding up”. Growth could reach 6% next year. Kaberuka starts an official visit to China today. He was expected to hold talks with the China Central Bank governor and leaders of the Export-Import Bank of China (EximBank), among others. http://www.businessday.co.za/articles/Content.aspx?id=92727 www.directinvestment.biz
